International Wikimedia Hackathon will take place in Tallinn

on May 3rd-5th in 2024.

We invite volunteers to help with organizing the event.

Event information

Wikimedia Hackathon is an annual event focused on collaboration and innovation that brings together Wikimedia technology community. Wikimedia contributors gather from all over the world to develop and improve the software that enables Wikimedia projects to function.

It is a spectacular IT-event where more than 200 participants from all over the world are expected.

Wikmedia Hackathon has previously been organized in Zurich (2014), Lyon (2015), Jerusalem (2016), Vienna (2017), Barcelona (2018) and Prague (2019). The last hackathon took place in Athens.

In 2024, this event will be held in Tallinn for the first time!

 

What do you get as a volunteer?

– Work experience in the organization team of an international event;

– Opportunity to participate in an international event;

– New contacts and acquaintances;

– Hackathon T-shirt and other Wikimedia souvenirs;

– Free catering and entrance to the Tallinn Hilton hotel;

– Compensation for travel costs to Tallinn;

– If necessary, accommodation in Tallinn;

– School practice hours;

– Invitation to a volunteer afterparty event.

 

English language skills required.

You can choose the field you like. For example, bloggers and assistants (helpdesk) are needed. Help with workshops, finding speakers or organizing city tours.
